The ideal candidate will have a background in Personal Care, Beauty, or Home, Industrial & Institutional (HI&I) markets and will focus on developing key customer relationships and driving revenue within the manufacturing sector. In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for achieving sales targets, fostering long-term partnerships, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Roles and Responsibilities
As the Business Development Manager, you will spearhead efforts to acquire new business and nurture relationships with existing manufacturing customers in a key segment. Your primary objective will be to drive revenue growth while ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. You will work cross-functionally with internal teams to provide tailored solutions and ensure timely project delivery, from concept to launch.
Key Responsibilities:
- New Business Development
- Generate new business by identifying and targeting decision-makers within Personal Care, Beauty, and HI&I brands and manufacturers. Build long-lasting relationships to drive growth.
- Key Account Management
- Proactively manage and develop relationships with key accounts to retain and grow business, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Account Planning
- Develop detailed account profiles and strategic plans to focus on customer needs, ensuring that each account receives personalised attention.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with teams in Sales, Marketing, Production, Technical, Customer Service, and Finance to deliver high-quality service and solutions to clients.
- Sales Forecasting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and performance reports, tracking activities to ensure targets are consistently met or exceeded.
- Marketing Alignment
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to enhance brand awareness and showcase the company’s products and services.
- Product Lifecycle Management
- Guide customers through the product lifecycle from concept through to product launch, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Market Trend Analysis
- Identify emerging market opportunities and trends to maximise product potential and stay ahead of competitors.
- CRM & Sales Plan Adaptation
- Maintain accurate CRM records and adjust sales plans as needed based on shifting market dynamics and customer feedback.
Essential Experience
- Proven Business Development Experience
- Extensive experience in business development or account management, ideally within the manufacturing sector in Personal Care, Beauty, or HI&I markets.
- B2B Sales Expertise
- In-depth knowledge of B2B sales within the Personal Care, Beauty, or HI&I industries, with a proven track record of growing sales and profitability.
- Strong Relationship-Building Skills
- Exceptional ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Sales & Forecasting
- Demonstrated ability to manage sales forecasts, track performance, and adjust strategies to meet business goals.
- Flexible Travel
- Willingness to travel 3/4 days per week across the UK, with the remaining time spent in the office.
