Job Title: Sales Director
Salary: £85,000/yr - £95,000/yr
We are actively seeking a Sales Director for a leading international luxury textiles business. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and driving the sales strategy, revenue growth, and business development initiatives. This position requires a dynamic and strategic individual with a proven track record in sales management, business expansion, and team leadership within the textile industry. This person needs to have strong people management skills as you will be fully responsible for a team of 10-15 members of staff globally.
Roles and Responsibilities
Sales Strategy Development:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company goals to achieve revenue targets and market penetration.
- Analyse market trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences to identify growth opportunities and inform strategic decisions.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to expand the company’s presence and customer base.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products, services, or distribution channels to meet evolving customer needs.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales professionals, providing guidance, performance feedback, and training to drive individual and team success.
- Set clear sales targets, monitor progress, and take corrective actions as needed to ensure the achievement of objectives.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and partners to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Act as a point of escalation for resolving customer issues and addressing complex inquiries.
Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
- Analyse sales data and market trends to develop accurate sales forecasts and set performance metrics.
- Generate regular sales reports, presentations, and updates for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and insights.
Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
- Collaborate with the finance department to develop annual sales budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure efficient resource allocation to achieve sales goals.
Marketing and Promotions:
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop effective sales campaigns, promotional strategies, and marketing collateral that align with sales objectives.
- Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to proactively identify areas for improvement and innovation within the sales process.
Education / Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Textiles, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven track record of at least 10 years in sales management within the luxury goods/textiles industry or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of textile distribution dynamics, market trends, and customer preferences.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a high-performing sales team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Data-driven mindset with proficiency in sales analytics and reporting.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and oversee remote sales teams.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
